Regional Cement company Rock Hard Cement has donated a significant amount of cement to aid with rebuilding efforts in Dominica following the widespread destruction caused by Hurricane Maria.
Operations Manager of Rock Hard Cement, Darren Mathews made the disclosure earlier this week after the materials were safely received in Dominica along with other building materials and donated food items.
“Rock Hard Cement is a regional company and stands united with the people of the Caribbean to assist in times of need. Using our strengths as a provider of quality cement and our strong partnerships, we aim to make a positive difference. We are committed to help assist in the restoration program and to enable recovery where property was destroyed or public spaces were damaged.”
Matthews noted that the cement donation will be given to Office of the Prime Minister in Dominica and then relief agencies will use the product to help rebuilding efforts.
The donation was being organized at no cost by Calvin Alkins Customs Services and Kestrel Liners. Calvin Alkins stated “the vessel received was a blessing to those in need in Dominica after the Hurricane devastated their island. Many thanks to Rock Hard Cement Ltd as well as everyone who donated to this cause to help our neighbors in their time of despair”.
