Team Rubis continued their support of the highly successful Barbados National Swim Team for this year’s 30th CARIFTA Swimming Championship. The Barbados team accomplished tremendous success this year having achieved their second highest ever medal tally of 55 medals overall, against 20 other Caribbean countries. In making the presentation of team hoodies just prior to the competition’s opening, Raydeen Hunte, RUBIS’ Network Brand Coordinator spoke to the relationship the energy company has with the Association. She said, “This is a continuation of our relationship with the national team as we presented Speedo team gear bags in 2013 and now we are pleased to have outfitted them with hoodies.” Accepting the kits on behalf of the swimmers and management of the CARIFTA 2015 swim team were Andrea Titus and Samantha Clarke of the Barbados Management Team, who thanked Rubis once again for stepping up to support the swimmers. They said, “The team continues to use the Speedo team gear bags at every National swim meet we attend and this year Rubis has once again showed their support of our young athletes with the donated hoodies, which have proven to be very useful and appreciated.” The Barbados Management team explained the swimmers had worked extremely hard, training as many as nine sessions a week, both morning and evening, in order to achieve excellence and it is wonderful when they can see their hard work being noted and appreciated. The next competition for the local swimmers are the CCCAN championships in El Salvador in June.
